He possesses extensive knowledge in investigating and reporting on building cladding systems and identifying the causes of defects and deterioration, with a focus on weathertightness and durability. This expertise allows him to act as an expert witness in mediations, adjudications, and court proceedings.

Philip is a member of the Weathertightness Review Panel for the Ministry of Education, providing expert reports and recommendations on Ministry buildings.
